As Director of Music at St Cyprian's Church, Clarence Gate in London, Julian conducts an acclaimed mixed-voice choir primarily consisting of ex-Oxbridge choral scholars. In addition to singing weekly services at St Cyprian's, the choir have sung at cathedrals throughout the UK as well as undertaking tours to the USA, Netherlands, Spain and Estonia.

Julian also works regularly with three large choruses and has appeared at prestigious London venues including Smith Square and Cadogan Hall.

The American Organist

Julian was educated as an organ scholar at Tonbridge School in Kent, before gaining an organ scholarship to Christ’s College, Cambridge in 1999 studying under David Sanger and Thomas Trotter.

 

He is currently Director of Music at St Cyprian's Church, Clarence Gate in London, a post which he combines with a busy international performing career as an organist and conductor.

 

As organist with Svyati Duo, he has performed across three continents, recorded a number of critically acclaimed discs for Regent Records and commissioned numerous new works for cello and organ. Julian also performs organ duets with Benedict Lewis-Smith as the Oxbridge Organ Duo whose debut recording of Stravinsky’s ‘Firebird’ received unanimous critical acclaim including a five star review in BBC music magazine.
